Carved from limonite, a yellowish-brown iron ore common in the local area, the statuette is notably small, measuring around 56 mm in height. Key features include a small, asymmetrical head with sketchy facial details like oval eye sockets and a polished natural depression for a nose. The neck is thick and poorly defined, and the arms are absent.
The figurine is characterised by very projecting buttocks, arched back, pronounced vulva and large, projecting belly. The back is less refined.
The figurine's large belly led to its nickname "Punchinello" (Polichinelle in French), after the short, fat buffoon character in Italian puppet shows.
Due to its discovery on the surface and outside a direct archaeological context, its age was determined by comparison with other similar female figures found in Europe.
